This unusual project was given to Toshi by a company president who lives in Tokyo. He was asked to create an “illustration of a Japanese hot spring”. He was requested to include a “tortoise” and “bird” which are both symbols for a long life. Though every designer has got a different character in their sense of design or drawing, Toshi was little bit concerned because his touch of illustration is heavy in coloring, which could create a mismatch with the theme of a Japanese hot spring which is meant to be something relaxing and healing, but at the end, the company president was happy with his painting.
As mentioned at the beginning, this work is unusual because this type of illustration or painting is just Toshi’s hobby so he doesn’t do it often as part of his work. However if there is a strong request from a customer who really loves his work, we will attempt it depending on Toshi’s work schedule.
